ATS2020 activities and teachers’ work was presented today 23st January 2017- to the teachers’ plenary at Kyriakos Neocleous Engomi Gymnasium, Nicosia, in the framework of Teachers’ Days- a two-day Secondary Education annual event dedicated to teacher’s professional development.
The session aimed to inform teachers about ATS2020 project that is being implemented in their school and provide them with the opportunity to get in touch with some of the tools used such as the Office365 class notebook, ePortfolio, as well as the My Learning Journal tool.
ATS2020 trainer Nicolina Markidou presented the project’s aims and activities. She also analyzed the ATS2020 learning model as well as the ATS2020 competences and skills framework. Manolis Kyriakakis and Christos Rarras- teachers of the experimental group- shared with fellow-teachers examples of the learning cycles that they have created in the subject areas of Physics and Modern Greek respectively.
They presented their lesson plans and explained how they structured their activities in Office365 class Notebook environment. They shared formative assessment quizzes and also presented examples of participating students’ ePortfolios. During the session, teachers also engaged with completing the My Learning Journal tool in order to examine how it works in practice.
The session triggered fruitful discussions among teachers regarding the use of ICT in the classroom as well as about the incorporation of transversal skills in the different subject areas. ATS2020 project was further promoted at the school level.
