
ATS2020 students and teachers of experimental group had the chance to feature their work at the annual event on the incorporation of ICT in the learning process held by the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute (CPI)at the Filoxenia Conference Centre, Nicosia last Thursday 15th June 2016.
The event showcased the work developed by the students in the framework of the EU projects coordinated nationally by the Department of Educational Technology of CPI:Innovative Schools, eSafe Schools, Young Coaches for a Safer Internet, ATS2020: Assessment of Transversal Skills 2020.
Students from participating schools presented the games and videos they had developed to inform fellow students about Safer internet practices; They showed how they used digital tools to create online quizzes in order to bring awareness about online Safety; They also explained in what ways they used digital materials in the learning process.
Students of Lympia Primary School in Nicosia- one of the most active experimental schools in ATS2020 project presented to the plenary- along with their teacher, Mrs Maria Loizou Raouna- the ATS2020 learning cycles structured in Mahara environment. They presented how they used Voki to make their own avatar that would narrate the weather forecast for Europe; they also showed how they used Purpose games to create quizzes in a Geography class.
Teachers from other ATS2020 experimental schools- Agia Varvara Secondary School, Kyriakos Neocleous- Engomi Secondary School as well as Pallouriotissa Secondary School showcased how they incorporated the ATS2020 skills framework during a “poster session” which took place in between plenary sessions.
